A British escape, a street photography series in London.
It’s eight o’clock on a December morning in the streets of London … The sun rises gently, I took my camera for a coffee out. I walk through these streets framed by red bricks, that is all that I love about London’s architecture. I love to walk these streets to photograph the awakening city.
Rare fact for a big city, streets are almost desert, I offer myself a long stroll in Mayfair district. Timeless silhouettes cross the streets, the sun is inviting itself on the orange facades and the pavement I walk on. I like this light, the light that only early birds know, which the sun offers us when we wake up.
I have the impression I walk in the 1980s’ London. Traditional taxis, telephone booths and red double-decker buses plunge me into a time I did not know. So I escape and I capture a few frames from London.
